![]() "There is a difference between a posture which endeavors to acquire appropriate knowledge and a posture ... which does not want to know." "The desire for knowledge corresponds with the desire for truth. The formation of appropriate knowledge and a life in truth represent the values for the inner posture of the desire for truth." "Experience offers the possibility for living knowledge when there is a turning towards it with clear, alert, attention. The less a perception is determined by subjective conditionednesses, the clearer, the more appropriate, is its knowledge, its recognition in the sense of the formation of appropriate symbols." Turning away from the knowledge and anesthetizing the inner life "In relation to an existing reality the posture of turning-away can be adopted. Instead of acknowledging an existing situation, a perceiving unit pretends that it does not exist or it may use symbols for different realities than the actually existing ones." "In a situation which becomes unbearable for a body it can happen that the body anesthetizes itself - a process which can take different amounts of time. With this anesthetizing however, the posture (the situation inside the individual) remains, but the feeling connected with it disappears. However, there is still a posture which is striving for expression." "When the turning-away and the anesthetizing become stuck attitudes, the consequences for a perception can be enormous. Its development is blocked. The development of the sphere of the inner taking of a stand, the sphere of experiencing, of attention itself, stagnates, it comes to a standstill." "The posture of turning-away expresses itself also regarding the realities, the lives, of other beings. Such individuals don't feel themselves and they do not feel others. This must not be confused with a secondary "feeling" which comes from the situation of (stuck) subjective conditionednesses." "In the solidly stuck posture of turning-away the difference between symbol and reality often is not recognized any more. An appropriate knowledge of one's own reality is prevented, the living meaning of "understanding" is not known. The development of the true ability to act responsibly is blocked." "It is about "to have", it is not about "to be". And "to have" is determined by the aspect of usefulness according to the respective subjective conditionedness." "Outer parts of a body may develop further - also when the inner person has decayed and deteriorated long ago. The developing parts have to do with functioning (which may become the henchman of the existing subjective conditionedness)." "From the moment of turning-away a distorted world begins. Values are turned around, meanings are twisted into their opposite. The false now is declared as true, the trivial as important, the superfluous as essential, what is inside as outside, perpetrators as victims." "A perception defined by subjective conditionednesses and without the desire for knowledge has the effect of a reality changing drug. Like a sickening drug which does not only infiltrate the respective body but which can also make other beings ill. This drug may be called the worst of all drugs." "The posture of turning-away prevents the healthy / whole connection of all spheres of a body and it prevents the healthy / whole connection of all beings with each other." "Realities are active and have an effect also when they are not known." | |||||||||
