Turning away from the knowledge
and anesthetizing the inner life

"In relation to an existing reality the posture of turning-away can be adopted. Instead of acknowledging an existing situation, a perceiving unit pretends that it does not exist or it may use symbols for different realities than the actually existing ones."

With this anesthetizing however, the posture (the situation inside the individual) remains, but the feeling connected with it disappears. However, there is still a posture which is striving for expression."
